Belgian Linen — why is it so special?

Certified Belgian Linen is carbon neutral, zero-waste and Oeko-Tex certified (no harmful substances), making it one of the most premium fabrics in the world.

Belgian Linen is woven with at least 85% flax originating from Western Europe. Only certified mills who weave their linen in Belgium can carry The Belgian Linen label is given only to woven linen that originates in certified mills in Belgian.

Flax is an extremely sustainable fibre because:

  • it requires no irrigation when grown in Belgian because of the wet and moderate climate. Belgian is ideal or flax cultivation so the plant doesn’t need extra irrigation.

  • it is not genetically modified. Flax that is cultivated organically, without the use of GMOs, crop protectors or fertilizers.

  • there is no waste during the growing and manufacturing process. All parts of the flax plant can be used as a resource for other products.
